Preschool!!

Scarlet started preschool! She is going to the Crowley United Methodist School about 15 minutes from our home on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 2pm. I chose this school because I loved the director and teachers, but I am also a big fan of the curriculum, which is actually a learning curriculum and not just a mother's-day-out.

They have "get moving" on Tuesdays with fun in and outdoor activities, Spanish, Science, Art, and many other activities that Scarlet doesn't stop talking about. She has three little girls in the class with her and she also talks about each one of them by name when she isn't with them (Abby, Tinsley and Rylin).

The teacher has been sending a little report card home with her every day to let us know what they did and how she behaved. So far, Scarlet's reports are praise-worthy. The teacher says she loves to help and is always the peace-maker with the other children. She brings them toys and baby dolls when they're upset and says, "It's okay, baby." (They're the same age ;-) She also tells us that Scarlet sings all the words to the songs and has been showing off her counting skills a lot. Counting to 10 all by herself is her latest accomplishment.

This is a tired little face...she's like her momma and thoroughly enjoys her sleep, so 7:30 came real early that first morning.

Now she's getting with it. This is her "cheese" face ;-) We are trying to get her to say "pizza" instead of "cheese" because it doesn't cause quite as dramatic of a smile.

Another pose by the door with her "pack-pack" and juice.

And this is Miss Cristal, her teacher, whom she loves. Cristal is really good with her and helps her make the transition from mommy to classroom very easily.
