As a professional writer, I have been asked for years now "Can I see your blog?" or reminded by family members that "I don't have a link to your blog so I can see your babies." And I've had to admit that "I just haven't gotten into blogging yet..." (professionally, I had...not personally). Where exactly have I been?
But for some reason, I woke up yesterday morning and decided it was time. So, welcome to "Happy Days," our little piece of the web dedicated to everything about Waylen, Amy, Scarlet and Will (mainly the last two).
In a Nutshell
Seeing as though I am years behind in creating a blog, I realize I have a lot to post about. Don't worry though - I am only going to hit the highlights for now and will update on other topics over time (sigh of relief as you realize this isn't going to be a 14-page post...).
She is a high-energy little 19 month old who loves singing, dancing and imitating every sound you could possibly imagine hearing in a barnyard or zoo. She also loves to read as many books as she can get her hands on and really enjoys being outside as much as possible. We just bought her a playset for the backyard, which she thinks is the coolest thing ever.
Our baby boy just turned three months old this past Sunday. He already weighs 16 pounds! He is such a smiley, happy baby and he amazes us with how much he wants to communicate. I'll soon post one of the videos of him "talking" to us.
Waylen
Work has been picking up for Waylen lately and he's been working longer days. This is a happy-day thing though...work means the economy is doing better and business is going well. He keeps himself busy during the week and has lots of projects around the house on the weekend in addition to spending lots of quality time with his little play buddy, Scarlet (and Will, of course).
Amy
And then there's me...I have recently stopped working, which is still a huge adjustment. Although, I have to say...I feel so much more relaxed and less-stressed than I have in years. While I have retained two of my clients' projects that I consider "fun" just so I can keep my mind engaged, I have otherwise switched gears and am selling a children's clothing line for two months out of the year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter). But best of all, I get to spend all my time with my babies...so we are taking trips to the museum, parks, going out for lunch, and spending extra time with Gumball and Bumpy (Waylen's parents).
Stay tuned for pics from our recent Bluebonnet photo shoot and our big backyard project!
